conatus.TaylorCouette

class conatus.TaylorCouette(inner, outer, length=6.283185307179586)[source]

Bases: Annulus

Annular cylinder ri <= r <= ro, z periodic of length L (Taylor–Couette geometry): CylindricalCoordinates(phi, r, z), RealFourier(phi) x AnnulusBasis(r) x ComplexFourier(z). Boundaries “inner”, “outer”, “walls” (the two cylinders). Same annulus recipe as Annulus (lam=2 lifts at modes -1 and -2, plus the divergence tau dot(rvec, lift(tau_u2, lam=1)) of an incompressible flow, declared by explain()), with the z axis of Pipe.

Parameters:
  • inner (float)

  • outer (float)

  • length (float)

kind = 'Taylor-Couette annular cylinder'
recipe = 'annulus'
coordsys()[source]

The coordinate system of the expert layer (IR) for this geometry.

basis_table()[source]

One line per coordinate: the basis family chosen (for explain()).

Return type:

list[str]

property eta: float

The radius ratio eta = ri / ro (the name of taylor_couette(eta=...)).

property radius_ratio: float

Former name of eta (deprecated since removed in v0.2).
