conatus.expert.equilibrium_eigenvalues

conatus.expert.equilibrium_eigenvalues(solver, sol, n_modes, *, dense_max=2000, arnoldi_tol=REQUIRED)[source]

n_modes leading eigenvalues (largest real part) of the Jacobian of v (+ c ∂x for a TW), full space without the mean: dense QZ if the active size ≤ dense_max (declared default DENSE_MAX), ARPACK otherwise at the accuracy arnoldi_tol (required: the budget is declared, the tolerance required; k= is the former name of n_modes, k being a wavenumber everywhere else). Marginal eigenvalues (translation) are part of the output. A travelling wave must carry params['c'] (it used to fall back to the fixed frame, c = 0); an equilibrium without it has c = 0 by definition.

Parameters:
  • sol (ECSSolution)

  • n_modes (int)

  • dense_max (int)

  • arnoldi_tol (float)

Return type:

ndarray
